Should Earth Science Be Capitalized. When you are using earth to describe the dirt below your feet or something in which you dig, you do not capitalize. Capital decision "Capitalize the names of planets (e.g., 'Earth,' 'Mars,' 'Jupiter').
I agree that earth should not be capitalized here.
For example, science, social studies, and math do not need to be capitalized, but German and Spanish do because languages are proper nouns.
The University uses the down style of capitalization; that is, the style discourages excessive use of capital letters in text. We capitalize the name of a celestial object when it is a proper noun. Capitalize 'Sun' when referring to our Sun but not to other suns.
